Why wear a maternity bra?

When should I wear a maternity bra?
When your existing bras no longer fit, or from the 4th month onwards.
As your breasts are especially sensitive at this time, Anita offer maternity bras with soft, moulded (seamless) cups. They also offer underwired maternity bras which provide a high support factor even for larger busts up to a cup size H. All styles have an extra soft, non constricting underwired especially designed for women who are pregnant, it gives a natural shaping effect for the bust.
Adjustment of maternity bra 4th month onwards
At month 4, the bra should be fitted so that it is comfortable and does not dig in even on the tightest setting. The breasts should be fully enclosed by the cup on both sides and at the decollete. The underbust band can be widened twice during the course of pregnancy. The cup expands with the breast. If the bra is correctly adjusted, it can normally be worn right through to the end of pregnancy.
The Tummy
The tummy expands during the months of pregnancy. A weight gain of 10-14 kilo is usual, but some women may put on up to 30 kilos.
The increasing weight of the tummy shifts the body's centre of gravity forwards and downwards. It presses against the abdonimal wall, pelvis and spine. To counteract this, the woman will lean back, forming a hollow in her back. This posture puts excessive stain on the back muscles and often leads to backache.
Many mothers to be find an Anita tummy support aid helpful. Wearing a support belt during pregnancy greatly reduces the pains, pressure and tension experienced in the back, tummy and pelvic area, as well as helping to restore the tummy's firmness after the birth. The effectiveness of a support aid has been tested and confirmed by the University Hospital of Frankfurt.
How the Anita support Belt works
- Effective aid to prevent lumbar and back pain during pregnancy.
- Expanding tummy section with tummy and back support.
- Quick and easy toput on and take off.
- Fits perfectly when standing, sitting or resting.
Clinical testing proved that the Anita Support Aids reduce backache by 82%, abdominal pressure and tension in pelvic regions reduced by 93%. Also saw a great reduction in pelvic twinges.
