Bra Fitting Guide

AM I WEARING THE CORRECT SIZE BRA?

At EnVie we understand the importance of a well fitting bra and the difficulties that arise to find the perfect fit. The correct fitting bra can be hard to find but get the right fit and it can transform your shape, often making you look slimmer and with a more defined waist. Over the last 15 years we have measured a great deal of women and have gained great expertise, so here are a few tips that can make such a difference if you get it right!

TOP TIPS ON HOW TO GET A PERFECT FIT.....

  • Check Your Cup Size
Sometimes the cup appears too small if the breasts are not lifted up fully into the cup, check that there is no spare fabric under the bust area. Your breasts should fit perfectly into the cup and should not bulge over the edges. There should be no wrinkling of the cup either. Check carefully that the underwires of the bra sit flat to your chest wall and that they are not pushed out from the body.

  • Check The Underwires
Make sure you check that the underwires of the bra sit flat to your chest wall and that they are not pushed out from the body.

  • Check Your Back Size
The back strap should fit very firmly around your back but it is also equally important that this is not too tight. Most of the support from a bra comes from this back fitting so it is important that this fits as snug and as comfortable as possible. A good way to check you have the perfect fitting back size is to stand sideward in front of a mirror and check that the back band is horizontal and does not ride up. If the back is anchored firmly to your back and feels comfortable it will make an enormous difference. Close the bra on the middle hook or the slackest, if you have to use the tightest fastening this is a sign the back is too large for you. Also it's worth remembering that the fit of a new bra will change slightly after a couple of weeks wear once it has been 'worn in' and the fabrics have become softer with washing and wearing.

  • Don't Forget to Adjust the Straps
Believe it or not, many women forget the straps can be altered and this can make quite a difference to the fit.

GET PROFESSIONALLY FITTED

Every woman's shape is totally unique and the best way to find your perfect size is to get professionally fitted into a specific range of bras. i.e. Tango from Panache - the size you are then may vary in another type of Panache bra and also with another manufacturer.

We appreciate how precious time is and that not everyone can get out to be professionally measured but if you would like us to help with fitting please call our customer services on 0113 898 0077 to arrange an appointment with one of our expert bra fitters, it is totally free with the purchase of your bra.

Your shape can change so it a good idea to be professionally measured every 6 months. Also if you are regularly wearing a bra 2/3 times a week you will notice the fit of it changing around 6/8 months as the elastic will start to stretch.

Measuring with a Tape Measure will give you a very rough idea of your size but we do not recommend this method as it can be so easy to get it totally wrong. Check the bra you are currently wearing, consider how the cup fits and if the back is snug enough and of course the make. Like shoes, the fit of a bra depends on style and manufacturer and like feet our busts differ in size and shape.
